Our mobile Pop-Up Museum is an educational experience featuring hands-on exhibits and informational displays that showcase the history and build process of Viking longship construction, their sailing and navigation, and what modern shipwrights and sailors are doing to carry on these ancient traditions
The Exhibits
The Build
Showcasing the tools and techniques of Viking age boat builders or ‘Filungar’ in Old Norse. Find out how they were able to turn a grove of trees into a ship capable of crossing oceans.
Navigation and Saling
Learn how the Vikings sailed from The Baltic and North Seas to the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and across the Atlantic on a plank built boat originally designed for calm fjords and rivers.
Modern recreations
Since the late 1800’s boat builders have taken on the challenge of recreating and sailing replicas built using a combination of traditional and modern techniques. See what modern builders and sailors were able to learn from recreating and sailing their vessels.

From the ship’s deck to the museum floor; our museum is setup, maintained and curated by Sea Wolf Vikingr who are all passionate about history, and sailors on our ships.
